European LeukemiaNet (ELN) Foundation

The ELN Foundation is a foundation of private law. Its goal is to support the European LeukemiaNet (ELN), a publicly funded research network of excellence, in all its efforts to strengthen and develop scientific and technological excellence in research and therapy of leukaemia (CML, AML, ALL, CLL, MDS and CMPD) by integration of the leading national leukaemia networks and their interdisciplinary partner groups in Europe. The strength of ELN is cooperative research and the development of international management recommendations in the field of leukemias.

Prof. Rüdiger Hehlmann

Prof. Hehlmann is past Chief of Medicine at Mannheim, past President of the German Society of Hematology and Oncology, past Dean of his faculty and past Secretary General of the International Association of Comparative Research on Leukemia and Related Diseases (IACRLRD). He currently coordinates the German Competence Network on acute and chronic leukemias, the European LeukemiaNet and the German CML-Study group. He is honorary member of the Polish and German Societies for Haematology and honorary doctor of the University Uppsala, Sweden. He has received various awards for leukaemia research and interdisciplinary cooperation. His research interests focus on leukemia, in particular CML, and mechanisms of leukemogenesis and progression to blast crisis. In MDS-RIGHT he supports dissemination and the preparation of management recommendations.

PD Dr. med. Susanne Saußele

Susanne is a haematologist and ELN network manager and the leader of the CML excellence center in her clinic. Her research interests are clinical trials in leukemia. She is currently involved in a European trial on discontinuation of tyrosine kinase inhibitors in CML (co-coordinator), in molecular monitoring of BCR-ABL according to standardized principles and in quality of life assessment.

Dr. Ute Kossak-Roth

Ute is a biologist and deputy ELN-network manager. In MDS-RIGHT she focusses on dissemination and will be involved in all organizational duties concerning cooperation with ELN.
