Prof. David Bowen
David Bowen is a haematologist and full professor in haematology. He works with national organisations to get more attention for MDS causes: he is a member (ex-chair) of the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) MDS subgroup, he is chief/co-investigator for several national MDS clinical trials, he is a member of the UK MDS Forum and of the NICE Appraisal Committee evaluating cost-effectiveness of newly licensed drugs for potential use within the UK NHS. Furthermore, he is co-chair of the Steering Committee of the EUMDS Registry. David and his team will use their expertise in the EUMDS Registry and the UK MDS Forum to contribute to the creation of the European MDS competence network and other tasks in Work Package 6.
